This report is generated weekly basis and analyses the BGP Routing Tables which are
collected by RIS Remote Collectors
at different locations around the world. Following tasks are included in this report,
Prefix distribution
This task shows the number of prefixes which are seen by each RRC boxes and RIS as a whole.
AS number distributions wrt RIR
This task lists the distribution of ASes wrt RIR, and also whether AS is single-homed or multihomed.
AS number distributions
This task shows the number of ASes which are seen by each RRC boxes and RIS as a whole and categorised as
Origin-only, Transit, Other.
- Origin-only, AS numbers appearing only to the right of an ASPATH. These
ASes could either be multihomed or single-homed.
- Transit, AS numbers appearing anywhere in an ASPATH and not exclusively to the right.
- Private, AS numbers designated for private use (64512 - 65534).
- Other, AS numbers held/reserved by IANA or designated for experimental use.
Average ASPATH length
This task shows the mean and standard deviation of ASPATH length over the week time.
Martian lists
In this section, you could see the list of Martians which are announced during the week.
When getting the list of Martian prefixes, Bill
Manning's Internet-Draft is taken as a reference.
Hot-spot lists
In this section, you could find the prefixes for which high BGP announcement activity has been
registered by the RIS. High counts for a particular prefix could indicate extensive route flapping to that
destination.
